UK-Armenia Research Partnership for Nature Action is a COP17 Green Zone side event that brings together universities, researchers, students and policymakers from the United Kingdom and Armenia to strengthen collaboration on biodiversity, climate and nature-related challenges.

The event will showcase how academic and research institutions can contribute to evidence-based policymaking, support implementation of biodiversity commitments, and help develop the next generation of environmental leaders. Drawing on expertise from the University of Oxford, the University of Exeter, the American University of Armenia and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and other partners, the discussion will highlight the role of universities and research institutions as bridges between science, policy and society.

A central theme of the event is the growing UK-Armenia partnership in higher education, research and nature action. The event will explore how universities and research institutions from both countries can work together through joint research, student exchanges, youth networks, academic partnerships and policy engagement to support COP17 outcomes and create a lasting legacy beyond the conference.

Through discussions on the science-policy interface and youth leadership, the event aims to strengthen connections between UK and Armenian institutions, encourage knowledge exchange, and identify practical opportunities for long-term collaboration on biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and sustainable development.
