Global biodiversity goals provide a shared direction, but translating them into effective and equitable national action is complex:

What should countries prioritise to achieve the greatest and fairest outcomes for global nature recovery – and how do we know what’s working?

We’ll share progress and emerging work, including two recent outputs:

🔎 Our systematic map brings together 1,000+ resources for monitoring nature-related commitments and contributed to the evidence base for the CBD’s global review.

💬 Our new commentary, “A Critical Year for Nature”, identifies four key needs for translating global biodiversity ambition into effective national action:

1. Independent tracking of efforts and outcomes
2. Prioritising the most impactful and fair actions, at home and overseas
3. Whole-of-society dialogue and accountability
4. Context-specific scientific insights to support action

This will frame a discussion chaired by Cecil (Max) Haverkamp, with Sarah Jones, Flavio Affinito, Luisa Forero and Neville Ash, bringing perspectives from policy, implementation, science and modelling.
