Two months ago, we met in an ancient woodland and as the long drought of the British summer gave way to spectacular autumnal storms, to ask: what would it take to redesign finance in service of the living world?
The Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery, in partnership with Ostara, the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance, Oxford University, and the Doughnut Economics Action Lab explored the nature of finance through immersion in nature, play, humour and deep systems thinking.
We asked three simple questions: what must we let go of in the current system? Where can we push harder from within? What might it mean to step outside altogether? A number of ideas took shape: living experiments, fragile and full of potential — seeds that may point to a different future.
