Researchers from the Centre collaborated to respond to a consultation on the implementation of the UK government’s principles for voluntary carbon and nature market (VCNM) integrity. Our submission drew on evidence from across the globe looking at the outcomes of carbon and nature markets, with a particular focus on nature markets.

Highlighting recent research evidence, our response proposed: more effort to stimulate demand for nature markets, community engagement as an essential component for successful for nature markets; and stronger social safeguards within VCNMs more broadly.
