The Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery has published its Year 4 Annual Report, showcasing a year of research, collaboration and growing impact in support of nature recovery. The report reflects how the Centre is translating interdisciplinary research into action, strengthening partnerships and helping shape conversations around the future of nature recovery in the UK and beyond.
Among the highlights from the past year are:
- 65 peer-reviewed publications, alongside 14 preprints, 12 research reports, six responses to consultations and four policy briefing notes, demonstrating the breadth of the Centre’s research and policy engagement.
- Our Nature Recovery Podcast reached 9,800 downloads, including 5,124 downloads during Year 4, with 16 new episodes released.
- The Nature Seminar Series welcomed more than 2,500 attendees and attracted over 5,000 online views across 31 talks, bringing together leading voices from across nature recovery research and practice.
- We hosted partnered with the BES and Table to host a two-day symposium, Nature, Farming and Food: How We Value Our Land, and held an innovative outdoor conference, Reimagining Nature Finance.
- We welcomed the general public to our How to Save the Amazon and Nature Festival events, and hosted events designed to strengthen peoples’ connection with nature.
Looking beyond the figures, the report captures a year in which LCNR continued to build its reputation as a leading interdisciplinary centre for nature recovery research. From influencing policy and developing new approaches to nature finance, to advancing research in ecology, health, technology and governance, the Centre is helping to create the knowledge and partnerships needed to tackle the biodiversity crises.
As the Centre enters the second half of its ten-year programme, it is refining its research strategy around a small number of ambitious interdisciplinary challenges, ensuring its work continues to deliver meaningful impact for nature and society.
